This is a temporary position at Rice University's Center for Civic Leadership, with employment offered from 11/01/2014 to 05/31/2015.  The closing date for applications is 10/13/2014.

Position Summary:
Reporting to and under the supervision of the Director of Programs and Partnerships, the Assistant Director will develop, implement, and manage experiential civic leadership programs focused on a specific geographic region and directly relevant to the Certificate in Civic Leadership (CCL). This work will be completed as part of a cross-geographic and/or cross-program team of other CCL staff colleagues. S/he will assist in the cultivation and management of university-community partnerships, faculty partnerships, and alumni networks that enrich civic leadership programs. The Assistant Director may serve as the team's direct report to the Program Director, develop and lead workshops, and/or organize special events. S/he may also have the opportunity to serve as the CCL undergraduate advisor.

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)

Experience Required:
- One year of professional, post-graduate experience in undergraduate education at a college or university;
- One year of professional, post-graduate experience in government or in a community- or service-oriented non-profit organization; or
- Two years of significant responsibility in a student leadership capacity at a four-year college or university. 

Skills Required:
- Excellent skills in advising students, collaborating, communicating with diverse audiences, and managing projects.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with internal and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- Must be creative, service oriented and organized.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team - both as a team member and in a leadership capacity.
- Must be able to work in a self-directed, autonomous manner. 

Salary: $40,300
