the Dropout Crisis

An Innovative Partnership Between a School District and City Government

In an effort to address the dropout rate, LAUSD Pupil Services and the City of Los Angeles Economic Workforce Development Department collaborated on a comprehensive dropout recovery model in high-need communities to reengage youth back into an educational setting.  Duardo and Sainz will discuss how the innovative model, cited by the U.S. Department of Education as a national model for dropout recovery, was developed.
