Campus Climate Survey on Personal and Social Responsibility Now Available

[Announcement from AAC&U Communications]

Campus Climate Survey on Personal and Social Responsibility Now Available
The Research Institute for Studies in Education (RISE) at Iowa State University invites AAC&U member institutions to sign up now in order to administer the Personal and Social Responsibility Inventory (PSRI) on campus during the 2014 winter semester.  The PSRI, a campus climate survey, helps colleges and universities know how well they are addressing this essential learning outcome. Developed by AAC&U and now administered at Iowa State, the PSRI illuminates five key dimensions of personal and social responsibility:
  • striving for excellence;
  • cultivating academic integrity;
  • contributing to a larger community;
  • taking seriously the perspectives of others; and
  • developing competence in ethical and moral reasoning and action.
Importantly, it surveys not just students, but also faculty, student affairs professionals, and academic administrators so that campus leaders can compare findings within and across groups. Participating campuses will receive full technical support for administering the survey from RISE, along with copies of their own data and customized analyses that will help them ensure that their campus is providing opportunities for students to increase their growth in personal and social responsibility.
Fees for participation are $3,000 plus a nonrefundable registration fee of $300. For more information about the PSRI or to register for the 2014 administration, please visit www.psri.hs.iastate.edu or email psri@iastate.edu. If you have specific questions about the PSRI or the 2014 administration, please contact Dr. Robert Reason at rreason@iastate.edu.
