Two videos peer-reviewed & published through CES4Health - and technical assistance available for products you may wish to submit!

[Announcement from SCRA-L]

Dear SCRA colleagues,

We're delighted to announce the latest products of community-engaged scholarship - both videos - to be peer-reviewed and published through CES4Health.info

(1) The documentary Cultural Humility: People, Principles & Practices mixes poetry with music, interviews, archival footage & images of community, nature & dance to describe what cultural humility is & why it’s needed.  Authored by Vivian Chavez, San Francisco State University.

(2) The educational film Apsáalooke Upsauloouk Bucha Unnaylayda presents narratives by Crow men that aim to encourage Native American men to have preventive health screenings.  Authors: Paul Lachapelle, Montana State University and Jim Real Bird, Crow Tribe - Apsáalooke Nation

We're also pleased to announce Marlynn May's appointment as the first CES4Health Fellow! A faculty member at Texas A & M and a senior scholar in the Center for Community Based Research and Education at St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities in Houston, Marlynn is available to provide technical assistance & mentoring in the process of preparing a submission or resubmission to CES4Health. Whether you have a product ready to submit or are  developing one, Marlynn is eager and willing to assist! He can reached at may@CES4Health.info

CES4Health is a free online portal designed to widely disseminate high quality products that can improve the health of communities and "count" in the faculty promotion and tenure process. Every product submitted is peer reviewed by community and academic experts.  If it's published, the Editor sends an email about the publication and the rigorous peer review process to people that authors identify, such as deans, department chairs and supervisors.  CES4Health also tracks how many times a product is downloaded and can follow-up with users to find out how it was used - important data that can be included in promotion and tenure dossiers and grant proposals.  CES4Health does not retain copyright for any of the products it publishes.  Learn more at http://CES4Health.info and follow the latest developments on twitter at http://twitter.com/CES4Health

Thanks!
