Register Now for "Civic Reflection for Educators" Workshop in August!


Civic Reflection Facilitation Training workshops help participants learn about and gain hands-on experience in facilitating reflective discussions. The Project on Civic Reflection is hosting a facilitation training specially designed for those who work in education - both in-classroom teachers and non-traditional educators and administrators - on August 20-21, 2012, as part of the program of the Teachers' Inquiry Project (TIP). If you need scholarship support, please do not hesitate to contact us. 
 
Time: August 20-21, 2012, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on both days
Location: Francis Parker School, 330 W. Webster Avenue, Chicago
Registration Deadline: August 3, 2012

At the workshop, you will receive:
  • Hands-on facilitation skills taught by expert trainers
  • Training on talking across difference -- and how to help students, faculty, staff, and community partners do the same
  • A facilitation handbook with tips and answers to frequently asked questions
  • A copy of The Civically Engaged Reader or Taking Action ($24.95 value), an anthology of readings for civic reflection
  • Potential opportunities to facilitate future discussions
  • Program consultation and ongoing support
  • Continuing professional development credits (13.5 CPDU's) are available to participating Illinois teachers
