Opening: Tulane Mellon Graduate Program in Community Engagement Manager

Hi all,

Tulane University recently received a grant from the Mellon Foundation to build a graduate certificate program in engaged scholarship and we are looking for a program manager. Please circulate the position description below to anyone who may be interested:

Posting Summary
In conjunction with the Center for Public Service, the Center for Engaged Learning and Teaching, Taylor Center, School of Liberal Arts and participating departments, the Program Manager will work with faculty, students, departments, schools, and national organizations to help design, implement and evaluate the Mellon-Foundation-funded Transforming Graduate Education Through Engaging the Community Program.

A
  • Proficient budgeting and financial management skills
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and web-design software
  • Willingness and ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office balancing multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Knowledge and/or experience with facilitation, teaching, and workshop development
  • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with both internal and external partners
Minimum Qualifications; Minimum Education
  • Master’s degree in Humanities or Social Studies  and one (1) year directly related experience to include higher education administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and/or experience with community-engaged research and service-learning pedagogy
