Stories from Civic Action Planning

After signing the 30th Anniversary Action Statement, Weber State University is boldly forging ahead in their Civic Action Planning process, which includes anchor institutions and allies across the City of Ogden. Weber State University's drive to involve the broader community in civic action planning led to the development of the Ogden Civic Action Alliance, an alliance of anchor institutions across the city, including Weber State University, Ogden-Weber Technical College, the City of Ogden, Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden Regional Medical Center, and Ogden School District. The Ogden City Action Alliance hopes to leverage the resources of all stakeholders to create substantial impact for the residents of Ogden City.

The full interview with Brenda Kowalewski (Weber State University), ChrisDallin (Intermountain McKay-Dee Hospital), and Bill Cook (Ogden City Council) and story of this city-wide Civic Action Planning initiative can be found here.

Welcoming our new Director of Professional Learning, Danielle Leek

We are pleased to welcome aboard our new Director of Professional Learning, Danielle Leek! Leek is joining us from Grand Valley State University, and brings with her a combined 20 years of experience in improving higher education. Leek describes her professional journey as "PhD gets MBA to make education better ASAP," so joining Campus Compact was a natural next step.

At Campus Compact Danielle will be driving efforts to establish a Professional Credentialing Program for community engagement professionals, leading publishing efforts, and working to make resources accessible in support of engaged teaching, research, and institutional practice.
