Job Title: Academic Support Services Coordinator, Center for Community-Based Learning

Position No. 336490

Approved Hiring Salary: $32,500 - negotiable

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

Serves as the contact and resource person for student affairs professionals, UNF administrative staff and faculty looking to develop co-curricular community-based transformational learning designated experiences for students.

Convenes and facilitates trainings for student affairs professionals and student leaders around co-curricular community-based transformational learning.

Investigates the potential for and recommends establishing nationally recognized programs at UNF (e.g. Bonner Leaders Program, AmeriCorps/Learn and Serve, Alternative Breaks).

Collaborates with various offices on executing specific university-wide co-curricular community-based learning projects and initiatives.

Prepares performance reports and information related to the co-curricular areas of community engagement at the University.

Facilitates the alignment of CBTL into established student affairs programs and initiatives.

Cultivates relationships with student affairs, other UNF administrative professionals and faculty including but not limited to visits to assess current and potential co-curricular community-based transformational learning activities.

Develops and implements programs/services (i.e., orientations, trainings, etc), products/materials and procedures/policies as necessary to support co-curricular professionals execution of high quality community engagement.

Provides one on one and group consultation to UNF co-curricular professionals to execute community-based transformational learning activities.

Organizes and executes co-curricular professionals enrichment opportunities on community-based transformational learning pedagogy and activities in collaboration with appropriate offices across campus and/or community organizations.

Frequent internal contacts across organizational lines, particularly Academic and non-Academic Departments. Additionally, administrative experience working within an academic or non-profit setting. Frequent contact with other external agency personnel.

Must observe and ensure the confidentiality of student and employee data as required by federal Student Right To Know and other statutes.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and three years of student affairs administration experience or other relevant experience (e.g. non-profit, philanthropic, AmeriCorps).

Strong written communication, verbal communication and presentation skills.

This position requires frequent travel in the various areas of Jacksonville, Florida. Must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

This position requires a police background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.

Experience supporting Community-based learning with an emphasis on co-curricular endeavors.

Demonstrated effectiveness in working with student affairs professionals and college students.

Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to public service, social justice and diversity; solid understanding of and appreciation for cultural, ethnic and individual differences.
