Call for 2017 SCRA Eastern Psychological Association Meeting Proposals

CALL FOR PROPOSALS FOR THE EASTERN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION 2017 ANNUAL MEETING 
Society for Community Research & Action
(SCRA: American Psychological Association Division 27)
Northeast Regional Conference at EPA
The SCRA Northeast Regional Coordinating Committee invites paper, poster, workshop, roundtable1, symposium, and panel proposals for its SCRA NE Conference at the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association. This year EPA will be held in Boston, MA at the Boston Park Plaza from Thursday, March 16th to Saturday, March 18th, 2017.  Students (both undergraduates and graduate students) are strongly encouraged to submit. 
SCRA’s program provides an opportunity for community-minded academics, field-based practitioners, and students in the Northeast Region to come together to share their work in research and evaluation, prevention and intervention, coalition building, community advocacy, and social justice.  Inter-disciplinary and practice-focused submissions are welcome and encouraged. We invite all attendees interested in community psychology to join us for a social lunch on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 (details to be announced at a future date).
Topic areas may include but are not limited to:
*Community Empowerment
*Coalition Building
*Community Advocacy
*Prevention/Intervention Efforts
*Ethnic/Cultural Studies
*HIV/AIDS Issues
*Gender Issues

*Other Areas of Social Science that focus on community work
There will be an award for best student poster
To be part of the SCRA program at EPA, please submit abstracts to the EPA website at http://www.easternpsychological.org by 5 p.m. EST on Sunday, November 15, 20162.  In the submission forms online, there is a place to indicate that you would like your proposal to be considered for SCRA/community psychology. Please select “SCRA” or “community psychology” as your 1st priority to direct the proposal toward SCRA
Submission requirements include:
1.   Names, affiliations and e-mail addresses of all authors (be sure to specify the lead contact person for the submission)
2.   Names and affiliations of presenters for SCRA program
3.   Proposal type (paper, poster, symposium, roundtable1)
4.   Title
5.   Short abstract (75 words)
6.   Long abstract (500-1000 words) including importance, methods, findings and conclusions.

1If you would like to submit a roundtable for the conference, select the Symposium option and explain the abstract that it will be in a roundtable format.
