Indiana Campus Compact 6th Annual Service Engagement Summit

[Announcement from he-sl listserv]

-- EXPLORE CRITICAL SERVICE LEARNING, POWER AND PRIVILEGE, AND CHARITY VS. SOCIAL JUSTICE --

Join us March 31-April 1, 2016 for two days of thought provoking presentations and workshops, network building, and celebration at the 6th Annual Service Engagement Summit. The Summit provides our audience the opportunity to hear the brightest speakers, participate in the most thought provoking and useful workshops, and create programming that will leave a lasting impact on our society for years to come.

This year's Summit features the dynamic Dr. Tania Mitchell whose teaching and research focuses on service-learning as a critical pedagogy to explore civic identity, social justice, student learning and development, race and racism, and community practice. Dr. Mitchell will deliver a keynote address and lead a workshop on Thursday, March 31, 2016.

We are also welcoming Veronika Scott, a social entrepreneur and the CEO and founder of The Empowerment Plan. She created a coat that turns into a sleeping bag for homeless people, but when she was told that they needed jobs more than coats, she stepped up to that challenge too. Watch the UpWorthy video about her work. Ms. Scott will deliver a keynote address and lead a workshop on Friday, April 1, 2016.
