[Announcement from he-sl listserv]

Drake University, in partnership with Iowa’s Healthiest State Initiative, is seeking interested candidates for our 2015-2016 Iowa Community Health AmeriCorps program (ICHAP).  We are hoping to launch Sept 30th and are seeking 10 members! Attached you will find a brochure with more information and below a brief summary of the program.

Drake University is seeking candidates for our 2015-2016 Iowa Community Health AmeriCorps program (ICHAP). Members must be able to commit to the entire service year of September 30, 2015 through August 31, 2016. In exchange for 1700 hours of service members will receive a $12,100 living stipend and a $5,730 Education Award. Full-time members will live and serve in one of 10 communities across the state of Iowa (TBA).  Serving 40 hours a week members will have the opportunity to work toward a graduate degree, taking weekend courses at Drake University designed to support their experience in community outreach, communication, and leadership. The graduate courses will be paired with required monthly training meetings in Des Moines (travel costs covered) as to allow for as minimal travel as possible. Pending grant funding, qualifying members will be invited to serve for a second year.
