Subject: Seeking Student Changemakers for the 2015 Global Engagement Summit

Greetings from Northwestern University!

My name is Joni Cooper, and I am a co-chair for the American Delegates team of the Global Engagement Summit (GES) at Northwestern University. GES is a five-day capacity-building summit that brings together some of the most influential leaders in the realm of social change to lead workshops, give short talks, and provide one-on-one mentorship that empowers our delegates to implement their own change-based projects.

We are now accepting applications for the 2015 Global Engagement Summit, and believe the students your university reaches would be a great fit for this opportunity. We would greatly appreciate your help in forwarding the following message to any students passionate about effecting change in areas such as social justice, community development, social entrepreneurship, or global issues.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Joni Cooper
American Delegates Team

GES is a five-day capacity-building summit for students committed to social change in their communities and around the world. Accepted delegates come together to develop the skills to better plan, execute, and participate in change-based projects. GES focuses not only on the “what” and “how,” but also challenges delegates to think critically about the goals, impact, and broader implications of their project.
We bring some of the most influential leaders in the realm of social change to lead workshops and talks and provide one-on-one mentorship that empowers our delegates to implement their own ideas for social change. Past facilitators and speakers have come from diverse backgrounds and organizations such as Ashoka, IDEO, Unreasonable Institute, GOOD Magazine, and Move This World, among many others.

All delegates will also be encouraged to apply for a variety of “Outcome Opportunities” to help advance their projects after the Summit, which have in the past included fundraising support, pro bono consultations, media coverage and more.
The 2015 summit will take place April 15 - 19. Check out our brochure and video for a glimpse into the experience you could have as an American Delegate.
We look forward to working with you!

The Global Engagement Summit

Participate in skill-building workshops speci-fic to your project's needs, attend TED-style short talks featuring prominent social change experts and receive constructive feedback on your ideas from both peers and professional mentors. Learn how to maximize your project's strengths and eliminate the weaknesses.
Develop your professional network by forging connections with industry experts from all over the U.S., all who travel to the Summit specifically to meet delegates and engage with their projects. Delegates who graduate the Summit join a family of global changemakers dedicated to sharing ideas and assets.
Apply for post-Summit outcomes, which are tangible resources awarded to outstanding delegates to help accelerate their project's growth. Past outcomes include financial grants, free access to marketing agency services and year-long mentorships with change-based companies.
