Sustainability Concepts
in Engineering
Courses

Held since 2006, a Center
for Sustainable Engineering (CSE) workshop for faculty members teaching
engineering courses will again be offered by the Center for Sustainable
Engineering, a partnership of Georgia Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon
University, Arizona State University, and Syracuse University. A workshop
entitled “Teaching Sustainability Concepts in Engineering Courses” will
be held on June 27-28 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. The workshop sessions will
start at 9:00 am on Thursday and will adjourn by 4:00 pm on Friday so
participants can catch flights home the same evening.
The workshop will
accommodate 30 participants. Faculty members from engineering departments at
four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. who have not participated in
any previous CSE workshops are eligible to apply. Participants will be chosen
based on a competitive application process. All participants are expected to
pay for their travel and hotel in Atlanta. The workshop itself, along
with workshop materials and all meals from Thursday breakfast through Friday
lunch, are free to participants.
