Accepting Nominations for Journal of Higher Education
Outreach and Engagement Editorial Board
The Journal
of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement is currently accepting
applications for service as a member of its Editorial Board. We are especially
interested in individuals who have experience in university-community
engagement and have expertise in designing and conducting studies of impact.
Thus, a strong research background and a record of engaged scholarship are
important.
The
mission of the Journal is to serve as the premier
peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary journal to advance theory and practice related
to all forms of outreach and engagement between higher education institutions
and communities. This includes highlighting innovative endeavors; critically
examining emerging issues, trends, challenges, and opportunities; and reporting
on studies of impact in the areas of public service, outreach, engagement, extension,
engaged research, community-based research, community-based participatory
research, action research, public scholarship, service-learning, and community
service.

What
is required of a board member? A three-year commitment to
· Peer review up to
three manuscripts per year;
· “Market” the Journal by
encouraging submissions especially at, but not limited to, conferences attended
and your college or university; and
· Participation in an
annual board meeting held concurrent with the National Outreach Scholarship
Conference (Fall).

selection committee comprising the associate editors and editorial board
members will review the applications and select up to five new board members.
