Call for Proposals
Deadline: November 10th
Deadline: November 10th
The annual PACE conference,
now in its 20th year, is for community engagement faculty, staff,
researchers, community partners, and graduate students who want to gain skills,
knowledge and best practice models for a spectrum of community and civic
engagement pedagogies and activities. We are
seeking workshop proposals in the following tracks: Capacity-building,
Pedagogy, and Research and theory. These are one hour workshops.
This year we are adding mini-sessions. These 15 minute
presentations (not quite PechaKucha – 6 minutes - but not a Ted Talk – 18
minutes) combine depth with brevity to allow for stimulating idea
generation and conversations. Curricular models will receive preference, but
co-curricular models are also encouraged. Three mini-talks will occur
within the 1 hour session, with 5 minutes between each presentation for
questions. The talks must fall within the topics below.
1. Food Insecurity
2. Promoting Civility
3. Creating and Sustaining an Engaged Campus
4. Promoting Equity and Inclusion
5. Partnerships to Improve K-12 Education
6. Addressing Health Disparities
7. Empowering Students as Colleagues
8. Service Learning and STEM
You may submit a proposal(s) in both categories, but each presentation requires a separate proposal.
