Dropout Recovery Model for Youth:
An Innovative Partnership Between a School District and City Government
presented by
Dr. Debra Duardo and
Mr. Robert Sainz
In an effort to address the dropout rate, LAUSD Pupil Services
and the City of Los Angeles Economic Workforce Development Department
collaborated on a comprehensive dropout recovery model in high-need
communities to reengage youth back into an educational setting. Duardo
and Sainz will discuss how the innovative model, cited by the U.S. Department
of Education as a national model for dropout recovery, was developed.
