Community Network for Research Equity & Impact (CNREI)
Supports Community Organizations Engaged in Research! The CNREI is sponsoring a
free monthly series of coaching conference calls for community partners who are
considering or already engaged in research partnerships with academic partners.
Ann-Gel Palermo, CCPH board member and Chair of the Harlem Community and
Academic Partnership, is facilitating the calls on these Mondays from 4 - 5:30
pm ET: June 17, July 15 and Aug 26. To participate, sign up here. Community partners may join the CNREI (it’s
free!) here.
Community Organizations Gather Next Spring for Peer Learning &
Network Development! The CNREI emerged from National Community Partner Forums on
Community-Engaged Research co-sponsored by CCPH and the Center for Community
Health Education Research and Service. CNREI seeks to ensure that communities
have a significant voice in decisions about research practice and policy, are
true partners in research, and fully benefit from the knowledge gained through
research. CNREI's first national conference will take place April 29 - 30, 2014
in Chicago, right before the CCPH conference. The CNREI conference will include
session tracks for community partners who are new to research and those who are
more experienced, as well as focused peer learning for Clinical and
Translational Science Award (CTSA) community partners and emerging and
established community Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and research review
committees.
