Dear HE-SL
Service-Learning Friends,
Students for the
Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship—SAGE—encourages teens to start
commercial and social enterprises, and then present them to a panel of
influential judges at the end of each academic year. The teens do
so under the direction of university business students, who serve as positive
role models and coaches, in their role as business consultants to their younger
protégés. To this end, I am pleased to announce that the Embassy
Suites (San Francisco Airport) will be the host site for the SAGE World Cup
Tournament on July 29-30, 2012 (see http://sageglobal.org).
Thus, the purpose
of this email is:
a. To invite you to serve as an esteemed
judge and/or observer; we expect about 30 SAGE teams from 15 countries to
compete for the 2012 SAGE World Cup championship;
b. Provide you with the itinerary
below.
First round
judging is set for Sunday morning, July 29. The final round is scheduled for
Monday morning, July 30. Judges may elect to judge one or both sessions. From 6
until 10 pm on Monday night, July 30, we will have a gala dinner and announce
the winners.
If you
can’t join us, please feel free circulate this to Bay Area colleagues.
SAGE would like
to thank our main sponsors for this event: Staples Foundation for Learning,
Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Umpqua Bank, the Pasternak Family Foundation, the
California Society of CPAs, Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation, the Louis
and Harold Price Foundation, and Pacific Gas & Electric.
If you are
interested, please simply reply to this email and say, “More details, please!”
All my best,
Curt
