YWCA Leadership Awards Call for Nominations |
The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
The YWCA Leadership Awards were created to recognize the achievements
and contributions of exceptional women in the greater Champaign-Urbana
community whose work advances the mission of the YWCA.
These individuals display leadership, initiative, creativity, and
dedication. Through their involvement, they inspire others to get
involved and make a difference in the lives of others.
Nominations may be submitted in the following categories: Advocacy,
Business, Education, Science, Social Justice, Philanthropy, and
Trailblazer. Deadline for nominations is Wednesday, January 31, 2012.
Awards will be presented at the 2nd Annual Leadership Luncheon to be held on Friday, March 2 at the I Hotel.
The recipients of the 2011 awards were; Advocacy: Marci Dodds,
Business: New Prairie Construction, Julie Birdwell & Jill Mulder;
Science: Dr. Shobha Vasudevan, Racial Justice: Dr. Brendesha Tynes,
Trailblazer: Dr. Phoebe Lenear.
We are sure that you know of exceptional women who deserves to be recognized and celebrated!
