The
Irwin W. Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning has an open
position at DePaul University. This is a part-time entry-level position that
would be perfect for a current graduate student, recent graduate from a Higher
Education or other relevant Master's program, or who has 1-2 years of
experience in the nonprofit industry. The Community Service
Scholarship Program Coordinator reports to me. Applications will be reviewed

Part-Time Program Coordinator – Job ID 3100
The program coordinator, reporting to the Internship and
Scholarship coordinator, will implement the Community Studies Scholarship
program (CSS) and support 80-100 scholars, ensuring that they develop through
their Community Service Studies minor, quarterly service, workshops, peer
mentorship, and electronic portfolio development. The coordinator will
oversee the new scholar selection process, and will work the faculty director
of the CSS Minor to advise on requirements of and progress in the minor and
connecting to pertinent university resources. The program coordinator
will work with a student advisory board to shape programming and the peer
mentoring program and will supervise an undergraduate assistant.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
--Administration (70%)
-Plans and facilitates workshops and retreats
-Ensures that scholars complete program requirements
-Oversees CSS new student selection
-Oversees CSS budget
--Community Partnerships (10%)
-Implement and oversee first-year cohort program at
community organizations across Chicago
-Collaborate with community partners to create and maintain
engaging and meaningful service opportunities
-Make regular site visits
--Community Service Studies Minor (10%)
-Advise students to successfully complete the CSS minor
-Develop electronic portfolio to highlight progress in the
minor and the program through critical reflection
--Peer Mentorship Development (10%)
-Work with supervisor and scholars to develop a program that
supports transition, engagement, awareness, and action
Education and Experience:
B.A. required; M.A. preferred.
-Experience with student and program development, community
partnerships
-One year of programming for large and diverse groups of
students, volunteers, and/or employees
-Strong communication skills
