Director for Community Engagement and Service Learning within the Division of
Student Affairs provides programs and services for students on community
engagement and academic service-learning (including community involvement,
service learning, social issue programming and retreats, and additional
programs as needed)

The
Assistant Director for Community Engagement and Service Learning within the
Division of Student Affairs provides programs and services for students on
community engagement and academic service-learning (including community
involvement, service learning, social issue programming and retreats, and
additional programs as needed). This position primarily coordinates community
engagement and service-learning programs and advises student
organizations.
POSITION
OVERVIEW
·
Develop community partnerships with
non-profits, schools, and government agencies and provide leadership for
co-curricular service programs
·
Develop and coordinate logistics, travel,
and risk management for immersion experiences including winter, spring, summer,
and weekends to foster student’s socially responsible leadership skills and
mindsets within personal, civic and professional contexts
·
Liaise with faculty to establish
relationships between academic affairs and the Center for the purpose of
promoting the Center’s events and creating beneficial programmatic partnerships
·
Participate in alumni outreach for the
purpose of engaging alumni in the Center’s programming
·
Ensure that monitoring systems are in
place to track assessment of student work in the community, including learning
outcomes
·
Develop and provide leadership and
service presentations to classes and student organizations.
· Develop, coordinate, market, and foster
service-learning programs including conferences, training workshops, speaker
series, events and retreats for all students across campus and in conjunction
with campus partners within the Division of Student Affairs, University, and
community organizations
·
Serve as an educational resource to
advise students, student organizations, and other members of the campus
community in the effective planning and coordination of successful community
engagement and service learning events, programs, and courses
SALARY
$42,000
to $45,000; negotiable based upon experience
