CALL FOR PAPERS--Journal of College & Character Special Issue: The Future of Community Engagement

[Announcement from he-sl listserv]

There are by now more than 60 academic programs—certificates, minors, and majors—focused on community engagement in colleges and universities across the United States. This special issue of the Journal of College & Character seeks to explore the development of these programs, examine best practices, and raise critical questions, with a view to enhancing and expanding the dialogue about the institutionalization and impact of community engagement in higher education for a broad audience of university faculty and students affairs professionals.

We are seeking articles by faculty and administrators involved with majors, minors, and certificate programs in community engagement. Topics should address challenges (e.g., conceptual, political, institutional, pragmatic, pedagogical) faced by practitioners in this nascent field as well as the best practices and strategies for overcoming these challenges.
